What is CBT?

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a branch of psychotherapy aimed at treating a range of moderate-severe anxiety and depression disorders. CBT works by helping a person identify and change unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaving. It is based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are interconnected and can serve to maintain vicious cycles of anxiety and depression.

Timeframe.

Mind & Motion can help you develop new, more helpful ways of thinking and behaving via a range of intervention. CBT involves a structured approach, with specific goals and tasks to be completed between sessions. CBT is usually time-limited, with a typical course of treatment lasting between 8 and 20 sessions.

A culturally sensitive and responsive approach is fundamental to effective therapy. Mind & Motion recognizes the impact of cultural, social, and economic backgrounds on an individual’s experiences and perspectives. By exploring the intersection of these factors, we aim to understand their influence on challenges and develop strategies to manage them in a meaningful and empowering way.
